Providing tool data via GDX
The further use of existing tool data is essential for an efficient production. In addition to the time factor, the failure rate plays an important role when re-entering data. 9.9 quickly becomes 9.0 or even 19.9. Especially in the case of contours, the takeover is a significant benefit if the existing data can be imported 1:1 into the CNC or used for quality control. We have equipped the TD Sketcher with the GDX interface to make this happen in a modern production environment.
If the tool was drawn with the TD Sketcher, the data can be provided via the menu 'File' - 'Export' - 'GDX 2.1'. Alternatively, export to GDX 2.0 is available to export the data in a compatible format.
In the following dialog you can select the sections to be included in the export. A pre-selection that is already useful for the TD Sketcher is pre-defined here. The GDX measurement requests are also provided, if they are available. Thus, with a GDX file, all data which are currently available can be made available.
The structure of the GDX file has the advantage that any other user software can read out the information that is relevant for the data import. No matter if it is a grinding machine, a measuring machine or a marking laser.
